HOLLI & MICHAEL GET HITCHED AT BUNNY HILL WEDDINGS
In March this year I found myself at one of the cutest named wedding venues ever, photographing Holli and Michael’s amazing wedding day. This is their wedding story…

A BEAUTIFUL BARN WEDDING IN THE WOODS AT BUNNY HILL…
Kicking off this reflection on Holli and Michael’s big day, I have to talk first about their fantastic venue: Bunny Hill Weddings. Now I have to be honest, I kind of fell in love with this venue as soon as I heard the name, but thankfully it really didn’t disappoint when I started my research and planning for their wedding photos, and I saw what Bunny Hill Weddings had to offer.
Now if you know me, you know I love getting outdoors and into nature and this venue, with its amazing surrounding woodlands, was just perfect! It’s located on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, an amazing place to go walking by the way, and the barn is nestled in acres and acres of private woodland and green spaces. The barn itself is down a leafy country lane and it offers all the rustic charm you’d expect from a barn wedding but with a modern twist. The room where Holli and Michael said their “I Do's” had huge and I mean huge windows looking out into all that fantastic woodland and when dusk fell and the fairy lights turned on, it made for some really magical photos.
When it came to the weather on the day, we did have a little rain, but given the forecast was for ice and snow, I think we got off lightly! Don’t get me wrong, I do love a white wedding, but when the wedding is in March, I don’t think snow was on the wish-list! Now I know most people hope for sunshine on their wedding day, and it definitely has its advantages, but if you ask me, I think think the moody skies and cool blues and greys the weather delivered on Holli and Michael’s big day, were the perfect complement to what I have to say, is one of the coolest wedding dresses I’ve seen so far this year…
A WEDDING DRESS WITH A DIFFERENCE!
Holli’s wedding dress, as I mentioned above, has to be one of my favourite dresses I’ve seen in 2023 and it matched the venue, the weather and the atmosphere of their big day perfectly. Her dress was white at the top but faded to grey in an ombre style at the bottom and I absolutely loved it. The dress had two layers, the white to grey ombre slip and an absolutely beautiful lace outer layer. It really was the perfect blend between traditional and modern, just like their barn wedding venue and I had a great time photographing Holli and her lovely bridesmaids getting ready for the big day in the cute onsite cottages.
PHOTO-BOOTHS, PHOTOS & PLENTY OF FUN.
As the evening wore on it was a treat for me to see photography become a key part of the evening’s entertainment too. There was a photobooth where some truly amazing pictures were taken and an entertaining i-spy photography game… Here’s the gist of how that worked… There was a dedicated sheet on each table with a different list of “must have” photos to take on it. I’m talking about things like, take a photo of a toast, capture a shot of the best men having fun, snap a great selfie - it was great fun to watch the guests join in on this and I had some fun taking photos of people taking photos. And all of this good fun was taking place to the tune of the very talented 24 Live.
